Mairi & Iain

The most beautiful and perfect day with Mairi & Iain at their own home, Corsebank Farm In Sanquhar

Mairi chose style 2230A in Taffetta Mikado from the Jesus Peiro Textures collection which was made-to-measure specifically for her.

Mairi opted for slingback shimmery heels from Dune.

Mairi wore our Grenada veil which is made from Italian tulle and finised with an ivory satin edge.

The ceremony took place at the beautiful Biggar Kirk

Bridesmaids dresses were from Reformation

Beth & Alan

Beth & Alan’s wedding was held at the stunning Eden Leisure Village in April.

Beth chose the Chloe dress by Shikoba which is made from organza with scattered pearls and floaty sleeve. She opted for the Amara dress underneath which is a crepe spaghetti strap dress with a low back.

She finished off the look with our gorgeous Martinique veil which is a single tier, Italian tulle with a subtle scatter of pearls.

Beth really wanted to dance the night away so having the Zoey dress with the Amara underneath meant she could easily slip the top off and have a chic lightweight crepe dress underneath to party in. She finished it off with the Amara satin belt.

Kym & Roddy

Kym and Roddy’s cool laidback wedding was held at the stunning Cambo Country House in St Andrews last month.

Kym visited us last year and instantly fell in love with our Jesus Peiro dresses. She loved the square neckline and straps of Style ** but wanted a split and more volume in the skirt. Since all our Jesus Peiro dresses are made to order and completely flexible in terms of style, fabric etc, it was so easy for us to come up with a skirt that suited Kym perfectly.

When Kym came for her first fitting she showed our Seamstress Tanya an image she had seen of another bride with tulle puffed sleeves and really wanted to add them to her overall look. So Tanya got to work on making Kym’s vision a reality and I think you can see that adding the sleeves for her ‘day look’ was just perfect and she was able to remove them in the evening for dancing the night away.

Kym opted for two of our Bridesmaid designers for her girls, including the Camilla dress in sage green by Th&Th and the Florence dress in burnt orange by Rewritten and don’t all the bridesmaids look amazing!

Designer Spotlight: Rolling in Roses

We’re feeling very smug over at Melle Cloche because we’ve bagged one of the most coveted designers in the UK, the amazing Rolling in Roses.

This small-scale British label has a focus on thoughtful design and high-end craftsmanship, creating conscious bridal wear for individuals who walk to the beat of their own drum. Their fabrics are gentle to the earth, their dressmaking techniques traditional and refined and their designs a blend of the classic and avant-garde.

All gowns are individually made to order by a tiny team of seamstresses in York, England. This small-scale production means they can always guarantee an exceptional finish to their dresses and achieve artisan quality workmanship with all its divine hand-finished details.  No production lines or faceless factories; each dress is made from start to finish by one expert artisan who knows your name and your wedding date, and who personally takes care of every last detail. Pure joy.

Designer Spotlight: TH&TH Bridesmaids

We’re absolutely thrilled to be bringing the TH&TH label to the bridesmaids of Scotland!

We’ve been stalking the TH&TH brand for a few years now and chatting to the girls about finding the right time to launch and we can finally say that from March 2022 you can shop the full collection at our studio for a limited time only.

The To Have and To Hold (TH&TH) brand is a small female team started by three best friends who saw a gap in the market for affordable yet sophisticated occasion dressing.

They believe in products and experiences that deliver joy and happiness. Shopping for bridal wear for yourself and your friends should be easy, fuss free and full of delight. (we agree!)

To create their beautiful, ethereal looks TH&TH use polyester for most of their dresses and all designs created from scratch by Kitty & Ping who are the creative design force behind the brand.

Every season TH&TH are striving towards a more sustainable business. They do not mass produce so there is always a fine balance of price vs offsetting but they do their best to ensure they are creating a brand that is constantly in conversation with the world around us. They recycle all waste where possible and can now proudly say they solely ship all production by sea. They are also slowly removing all single use non recyclable plastic from their supply chain too and are committed to do better.

You can also follow TH&TH over on their instagram to get lots of inspo.

Designer Spotlight: VAGABOND BRIDAL

We’re so excited to launch the amazing Vagabond label at Melle Cloche this February!

As the only stockist in Scotland the Vagabond label will offer our brides a cool, sophisticated and elegant collection that she can be assured isn’t available anywhere else.

The Vagabond brand was founded in 2017, and the debut collection launched in 2018 with great success around the globe. Vagabond’s designer, Valery Zelenyuk, who lives in Cape Town with her husband and two sons, aims to embody the contemporary, strong and free-spirited woman that is becoming the pioneering female archetype in modern society.

The Vagabond bride wants to look beautiful but not at the expense of comfort and wearability, she doesn’t need to be afraid to look and feel strong, yet feminine in her wedding gown.

Each gown has an underlying timelessness in its silhouette, structure and fabric and of course Vagabond pride themselves on their quality – each piece is made individually by hand.

The collections will suit all contemporary tastes, including some classics with clean lines, bohemian gowns with textured lace and romantic shapes, as well as some daring rock n roll numbers.

Vagabond are a 100% female owned business, and have 100% female team - the business focuses strongly on female economic empowerment, ethical production practices and providing a balanced working environment for women in modern economic times.

Vagabond are part of the slow fashion movement, and practices minimal waste production methods. They manufacture each gown individually, and only on order, so have zero product waste, and a high degree of reusability, as the product is made to the highest quality - they encourage brides who are interested to resell their gowns so they can be enjoyed by more than one end user.

They only use eco silks, do not use any animal products, and are constantly focused on minimising environmental impact of packaging materials.

We think they’re pretty perfect and are so glad to have them at Melle Cloche - make an appoitnment today.

LATEST COVID UPDATE

A little update from Jac & Lisa…

Following the recent announcement from the Sottish Government that we’re now moving beyond Level 0 we have revised some of our current safety protocols and what that means when you visit Melle Cloche.

As you know we’re in ‘wedding season’ this summer so our first priority is to keep our team and brides safe so that we can ensure all our brides are immaculately dressed, relaxed and ready for their long awaited wedding day.

As much as we’re welcoming the relaxing of restrictions we have to acknowledge that not everyone has been double vaccinated and the increase in positive Covid results in the 20 to 30 something age group is still quite high.  Our team is small and working at full capacity so we need to ensure their safety and ability to deliver the service brides deserve. So we’ve decided to relax the restrictions slightly but not fully and we hope you understand and cooperate.

  • BRIDAL - We’re now allowing up to 3 guests to accompany a bride at appointments.

  • BRIDESMAIDS - We’re allowing 3 bridesmaids to try-on (accompanied with the bride), however if you want more girls to try on we can accommodate this by extending the appointment and separating bridesmaids into two groups while trying.

  • FITTINGS/ALTERATIONS - We have decided not to relax the restrictions for our bridal fittings at the moment to keep our seamstresses safe and to limit the risk for brides getting married imminently.

  • ACCESSORIES - We ask that you only bring along 1 person with you for a styling/accessory appointment.

Face coverings must be worn at all times, throughout all appointments along with regular hand sanitising.

As our peak wedding season runs until the end of September we anticipate reviewing these guidelines again at that point and relaxing them further.

We really hope the easing of restrictions means all weddings post 9th August 2021 are exactly what you’ve dreamed of and that you all ceilidh into the wee small hours!

Thank you all for your continued support, co-operation and understanding.
