THE LABEL
Hayley Claire Neil is the founder and designer behind Rolling In Roses. A graduate of Edinburgh College of Art Hayley worked as a freelance costume designer, maker, and assistant in the worlds of theatre and film before opening her first bridal boutique in York in March 2012.

The RIR dresses are unstructured and cut to effortlessly flatter the natural figure rather than to fight against it. You won’t find any restrictive boning or scratchy, stiff fabrics here, just comfort, elegance, and freedom. The processes include delicate hand-finished couture details such as tiny rolled hems, hand-stitched edgings and beautiful blanket-stitched hook and loop closures, and all pieces are lined with a natural, breathable silk/bamboo blend or a vegan alternative to silk made from orange-fibre.

The typical Rolling In Roses bride? There isn’t one. They dress brides from all walks of life and of all shapes and sizes.  RIR are a small-scale British label with a focus on thoughtful design and high-end craftsmanship, creating conscious bridal wear for individuals who walk to the beat of their own drum.

Minimal impact, maximum love. Creating quality products and positive spaces, and generally trying to help make the world a better place. RIR use sustainable, ethically produced, organic and eco-friendly fabrics, and offer vegan alternatives to silk. Sustainability is a lifestyle, not a gimmick; and they are conscious of everything they do, from using paper tape instead of sticky tape on their dress patterns, right down to the recycled paper in their ladies’ room. They also recycle everything. (EVERYTHING. Even ballpoint pens, crisp packets, and the Tetra Paks from the oat milk they put in their tea. Everyone who works for RIR is an eco-warrior, and they’re so proud of the tiny amount of rubbish they send to landfill. All fabric offcuts are donated to crafters, makers, and artists so nothing is wasted, and they package all dresses in biodegradable bags, recycled acid-free tissue paper, and unbleached cardboard boxes. They are constantly striving to run their business as ethically as possible in every way. Pay it forward, spread the love.

The Vagabond brand was founded in 2017 in Cape Town by designer Valery Zelenyuk who wanted to create a contemporary label that empowered the strong and free -spirited bride.

The Vagabond bride wants to look beautiful but not at the expense of comfort and wearability, she doesn’t need to be afraid to feel strong, yet feminine on her wedding day.

Vagabond is part of the slow fashion movement, and practices minimal waste production methods. They manufacture each gown individually, and only on order, so have zero product waste, and a high degree of reusability. Using only eco silks, no animal products, and are constantly focused on minimising environmental impact of packaging materials.

Established in 2008, Esty Style has been dedicated to create a new kind of bridal fashion, providing beautifully designed and handcrafted wedding gowns for the elegant and modern bride.

The designer Svitlana Lytvyn learned how to sew in her childhood. She was born in a family of highly skilled tailors.

Her grandmother and mother created truly couture pieces. Limited resources always develop imagination.

Svitlana inherited those skills and created a gown for her school prom. It was her first step to become a designer of evening dresses and then grow into a designer of modern wedding gowns.

Katy Britton began her career in the Bridal design industry over 20 years ago as assistant to a much loved bridal wear designer. She trained in the art of corsetry, hand embellishment, construction, draping and all the skills needed for bridal couture.

She went on to gain a BA Honors in Fashion Design in Manchester, then in 2006, her first bridal label - Mariée, was born. Having decided to change the course of the business in 2021, Mariée became Katy Britton Bride.

Working with digital patterns means they can lay plans digitally and flex these to get the best fabric consumption, leading to less cloth wastage.

Eco-conscious fabrics currently used in their collections include BAMBOO satin, a biodegradable flowing satin made from bamboo - a plant that grows much faster than other crops and requires less water.

They also use work with a beautiful drapey satin made from recycled polyester and dyed using non-toxic chemicals, giving a second life to a material that’s not biodegradable and would otherwise end up in landfill or the ocean.

The Rewritten story begins in 2016 when friends Katie Arnott and Fran Cookson decided to design and create their own contemporary bridesmaid label.

The Rewritten gals have grown the brand to what it is today and have lived and breathed all things bridesmaid and their passion shows in all their collections.

Fran designs everything in-house and the styles are sampled at their London studio, where they create the majority of their best-selling styles. The bold colours are completely unique to them and every dress is created from fabric that is dyed to their exact colour specifications.

All gowns are designed in the Jenny Yoo corporate office in New York then manufactured in their own factories in China and India. All the factories are certified and passed the Workplace Conditions Assessment (WCA) which is a social compliance audit aligned with industry standards and best practices to improve working conditions in supply chain. The WCA ensures no child labor is ever used. The design team personally visits their factories every year and work hand in hand with them ensuring quality in every aspect of the manufacturing process.

To maintain fabric sustainability domestically they have partnered with Fabscrap to recycle and repurpose unused fabrics. They also donate other fabrics and trims to The Fashion Class, a New York based Fashion Design school for youth who visit their studios yearly as part of educating the next generation of fashion professionals.

Jenny Yoo is continuously finding ways to improve the process and become more sustainable. From consolidating shipments to cut down on CO2 omissions, to reducing packaging and establishing more localised sourcing. They feel every step towards sustainability, is one in the right direction.

We have lovingly handpicked all our accessories from some of the most well known designers in the fashion industry which means we’re always ahead with the latest trend.

We offer 30 minute styling appointments where you’ll have exclusive use of our accessories and veils and shop our earrings bar! Or if you’d rather just go straight to buying then shop online and have them delivered to your door.

As a lot of our accessories are made-to-order we always advise that you leave at least 8 weeks prior to your wedding to order your accessories to avoid disappointment. However we do keep stock of lots of items so please don’t hesitate to ask if there’s something you need on a tighter timescale.
