Katy chose the Lucy dress by Lusan Mandongus which is a full intricate lace sheath dress with a stunning train with frill detail. We customised the dress by adding a beautiful full lace sleeve and Katy finished off the look with an elegant one tier cathedral length veil.

A couple of months ago we came together with some fabulous suppliers to create a beautiful photoshoot showcasing our range of plus size wedding dresses for the curvy bride.
Here are some of our favourite images from the shoot.
The model is real bride Laura, who walked into our boutique last year to choose her own wedding dress. She was married earlier this year at a beautiful ceremony at 29Glasgow and we asked her if she wouldn't mind staying in the wedding bubble a bit longer and wear some of our dresses - thankfully she agreed!
All the dresses in our shoot are by Callista who have been creating gowns specifically for the curvy bride for many years. Constructed to accommodate the needs of the fuller figure in terms of style, support and the perfect fit - every effort is made to make every bride feel special and give shape to the curves she loves.
This collection is designed for bust sizes from 46 to 57 inches, in wonderful soft and light weight fabrics like Chiffons, Organza, embroidered Tulle and soft, floaty Satins. Attention to detail and fit is key with Callista and they even offer detachable halter straps, or straps wide enough to cover your bra - if only every designer did the same!
Laura beautifully shows of some of the latest styles from Callista including the Monet, Canaletto, Lorenzo and Boscoe dresses, which are all in various shades of Ivory, champagne and stone.
Our shoot took place at The Trades Hall which is a stunning wedding venue in the heart of Glasgow. The building was designed and built in 1791 and has a unique history with exceptional features and apart from the medieval cathedral, is the oldest building in Glasgow still used for its original purpose.

Fabiola from the new 2018 Dreams collection by Eddy K is our dress of the month.
This stunning lace sheath dress is adorned with ivory beads and sequence making it hang exquisitely on the body.
It's slightly off the shoulder neck line gives a flattering effect and the low back adds that touch of drama.
The slip inside the dress also detaches so you can wear the silk cammy on your wedding night - now it doesn't get more romantic than that!
Our dress of the month is the stunning Noah from the new Grayson collection by Sottero & Midgley.
The beaded and Swarovski crystal-embellished lace motifs adorning the shoulders and waist add a touch of glamour to this simple chic silhouette.
The real statement of this aldora satin dress however is the stunning illusion cutout lace train and sexy open back.
We're so happy to share these beautiful images of our lovely bride Roisin who married her fiance Graeme at Brig O' Doon House Hotel earlier this year.
Roisin wore the Justin Alexander Janey dress from their Sweetheart collection, a strapless fitted dress with layers and layers of soft tulle to form a full skirt and train. She teamed it with one of our plain two tier veils in fingertip length and added a touch of her own style by adding a thin rose gold belt and rose gold strappy sandals which finished the whole look off perfectly.
Roisin's bridesmaids wore the Twobirds tulle range of dresses in a beautiful pastel pallet which complimented Roisin's dress beautifully.

Well it's nearly a week since the Rewritten Road Trip came to Glasgow and we're still finding prosecco corks in the farthest corners of the shop - although that probably a sign of a good night!
The lovely Fran from Rewritten brought an array of styles and sizes to try on along with their two new colours, a beautiful oyster and mint green which we just know our brides and bridesmaids are going to love.
The fabulous Jack Fleurist came along with her flower crown workshop and kept everyone mesmerised with her skills and stunning flowers.
We also had the unique and talented Lisa Donati of A Braw Wedding launch her range of bridal stationery and gifts.
The ultimate glam squad were also on hand to give all the brides and bridesmaids a mini makeover and everyone was queuing up to get the AMM treatment!
The stars of the show however were definitely the Rewritten dresses! Styles include the Vienna, a floor length racer back dress with waist tie fastening, the Marrakech, a cold-shoulder double layer top with floor length skirt, the Havana, a halter neck top with stitch detailing and a stepped hem with a floor length skirt, the Florence, an ankle length wrap dress with back and waist tie detail and the Tokyo, a knee length wrap dress with back and waist tie detail. Each dress is designed with a wide circumference to give a fuller skirt, allowing for beautiful movement when walking or dancing. The additional two colours of oyster and mint green are just the icing on the cake of this gorgeous collection.
So if you're looking for cool, contemporary 'non traditional' bridesmaid dresses then look no further than Rewritten - you won't believe the price either!

We visited the lovely city of Birmingham last week to see the new Badgley Mischka Bride 2018 collection. As always they had a beautiful mix of figure hugging and a-line dresses with stunning embroidery detail, cut out lace and lots of beading and always with that Badgley Mischka sex appeal.

It was only last month that we went down to visit Maggie Sottero and pick our favourites from the new Sottero & Midgley collection. We always look forward to seeing new collections from designers but sometimes what designers are putting out on the catwalk for us to buy isn't always what our brides are asking for. However The Grayson Collection was spot on for us and our brides and I really think it's Sottero and Midgley's strongest collection so far.
The collection features less lace and tulle and more clean lines and silhouettes with fabrics like mikado, satin and crepe.
The whole collection has an old Hollywood glamour feel but still offers the effortless simplicity that you want from your wedding dress.
I think brides looking for a simple and sexy look on their wedding day without going too far away from their own style will love this collection as will the more traditional brides as there are so many classic shapes and fabrics too.
The Grayson Collection will be in-store from July and keep an eye on our events page for the Grayson Trunk Show towards the end of the year.

Check out the beautiful wedding of Nicola and Craig who got married at one of our favourite venues, The Glasgow Art Club.
Nicola came to us last year looking for bridesmaid dresses and fell in love with our range by Ghost. As she wanted her bridesmaids to feel like themselves and express their own sense of style, she let them choose their own dress and colour and didn't they do well!
Nicola's bridesmaid Linda chose the 'Wendy' dress in emerald green, Claire went for 'Salma' in navy and Jenna opted for 'Sylvia' in orchid bloom.
She told Love My Dress blog, “It was so important for me that my friends looked like themselves and felt good on the day, so they all wore their dresses, shoes, hair and make-up to suit their own individual style.”
Nicola told Love My Dress blog, “We had a hairy (but happy) moment post-purchase when we found out my sister-in-law-to-be Claire was expecting and would be five months pregnant come the wedding date, but the girls at Melle Cloche did a wonderful job with alternations and it fitted her perfectly.”

The stunning Oakley from Maggie Sottero's couture line Sottero and Midgley is our dress of the week and isn't it breathtaking.
Chic yet opulent, this tulle fit-and-flare features beaded double spaghetti straps, a V-neckline, and an illusion back accented in lace appliqués. Shimmering lace appliqués embellished in beading and Swarovski crystals cascade down the bodice and skirt into a scalloped hem. Finished with crystal buttons over zipper closure.

Our dress of the week is this beautiful Alfred Angelo classic a-line wedding dress with beautiful beaded tip-of-the shoulder straps.
Demure and sophisticated, this romantic wedding dress is delicately crafted from lush layers of venise lace and tulle. A deep v-neckline and sheer, cut away backline add a touch of drama.
